Inner and Outer Metropolis

Inner and Outer Metropolis is a project about a psichological identity. The identity you give to a place. It was originally intended to be named “the Inner part and the Outer part of my Metropolis”, a project born in the city of Genova (IT), and first exhibited in the city of Budapest (HU).

Each photo is printed on silver gelatin Ilford baryta warmtone. Dimensions are 20×30 cm. Diptychs and their prints are in a limited edition of 5, presented within a thin frame of natural wood and an archival grade thick passepartout, with no glass. Each photo is titled, dated, numbered and signed on verso. Price for the diptych is 300 euros.

All photos copyright Paolo Saccheri.

Closer to beyond

During my 20 years of living in the historic center of Genova, I realized how different can be, from person to person, the perception and so the description made of that part of the city. I shot the distorted reflections from the windshields of rare cars parked in the historic center of Genoa, meaning the difficulty of thoroughly describe that place in a true way. All images are from 6×7 b/w film negatives and none have photoshop modifications.

B/W photographs are printed on silver emulsion photographic paper.  30×38 cm, mounted on PVC and matt finished on front. Framed with a vey thin and deep black woodden frame. Limited edition of 5. Titled, dated, numbered and signed on verso. Price for the b/w photographs is 150 euro.

Colour photographs are a colour-scan “interpretation” when acquiring 6×7 b/w film negatives. C-print on Satin paper. 20×25 cm, mounted on PVC and matt finished on front. Framed with a vey thin and deep black woodden frame.  Limited edition of 5. Titled, dated, numbered and signed on verso. Price for the colour photographs is 110 euro.
